2016 will be an amazing year. It is the first year of our 2020 mid-term ambition and at the same time the first year of implementation of Sustainable Development Goals. This creates a very special context of starting with the right foot. As an MC member, you'll be challenged and often you'll have to do something, that has never been done before. Of course you'll have some of the smartest people around you that will be always happy to help, but keep in mind, that once elected, you will become the final responsible for an important puzzle piece.
Key characteristics of a team member:
General learning points:
-
flexibility and growth mindset
-
critical thinking and solution orientation
-
ability to perform under pressure
-
proactive learning
-
strong sense of responsibility
-
desire for achievement
-
team management and coaching
-
strategic planning and tracking
-
project management

AIESEC is a living organism. It changes, transforms and adapts to the external environment to make sure we can reflect the needs of the society in the best possible way. Starting from that, the first thing you need to understand is that this is only a draft of the MC structure. The final structure will be designed and allocated after launch of the new AIEEC Experience as a part of 2020 roadmap at IPM 2016 (more about AIESEC 2020 ambition and it's components here). The AIESEC Experience is currently composed from ELD programmes - GCDP, GIP, TMP and TLP. This, however, might (and most probably will) be a subject of change and will result in changes of the MC team as well - when it comes to structure, roles, responsibilities and JDs.
I seriously can't stress this enough - get ready to be flexible and adapt to a new role, a new JD and a new AIESEC.
You're applying for the MC1617 of AIESEC in Slovakia. Your position, exact role and JD will be clarified later on.

MC team: the overall role of the MC team: 1) co-create and implement strategic direction that enables growth and development of the entity, 2) ensure global alignment and leadership development in the experiences we provide, 3) support, connect and inspire local committees in their operations and 4) represent the organisation on a national level.
Sustainability team: the structure of the sustainability team most probably will not change. The exact roles and JDs might be a subject to minor changes. The role of this team is 1) to ensure financial sustainability of the MC team, and 2) to provide suggestions on how to improve the financial sustainability to the entity, 3) support long-term sustainability and growth of the entity through internal health and external partnerships.
Customer experience team: 1) to ensure a quality customer experience developing leadership in every experience our organisation provides, and 2) to co-create strategies and a development plan that will enable our entity to deliver more of those experiences.
For information regarding individual roles, draft JDs and a video explaining the logic behind the whole structure go to this page.

The term
The MC term starts on July 1st 2016 and finishes on June 30th 2017. All MC members are expected to work during the full duration of the term.
Virtual transition
Every MC member is required to agree on a timeline of virtual transition with his / her predecessor and the team. The objectives will be clarified with the MCPe.
Physical presence
All MC members are required to be physically present in Bratislava, Slovakia from May 20th, 2016 because of the MC takeover cottage, respectively from May 26th, 2016 because of the 50th Anniversary of AIESEC in Slovakia (celebration event, more info here) and then later for a team transition starting on June 1st 2016. If required, accomodation will be provided. If possible, it is also recommended for the MC elected to be physically present during Brave 2016, a national conference happening on March 31st - April 3rd.

General information
The whole process will be conducted in English language (including personal interviews with MCP). In case the process or certain parts of it will be changed, you will be notified about it with sufficient time advance. You will be notified at the end of each selection step if you may proceed to the next one.
